ORTHOGNATHIC SURGERY: CHANGING FACES AND BRIGHTENING SMILES

Most people live with the facial deformity/asymmetry,  which they want to change to avoid the social stigma of going around in the society. Hiding the smile either due to  deficient or protruding maxilla/mandible or both making  them look unaesthetic.

One solution is to go for orthognathic surgery which can  change their facial profile and look good in short time.

Orthognathic surgery also known as “corrective jaw  surgery” is designed to correct conditions of the jaw and  face related to structure, growth, sleep apnea,  temporomandibular disorders (TMD), malocclusion  problems owing to skeletal disharmonies.

The operation is used to correct jaw problems in about 5%  of general population, presenting with dentofacial  deformities like maxillary prognathism, mandibular  prognathism, open bites, difficulty chewing and swallowing,  temporomandibular joint pains, excessive wear of the teeth  and receding chin.
